Lamar Jackson

This past Saturday Broward FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) had the opportunity to serve at a fun day with LJ Lamar Jackson. We initially helped the kids with the bounce houses and games.

However, when Lamar Jackson arrived all the kids could care less about the games and rushed to see their hometown hero! It was a sight to see. Kids wearing Jackson’s jersey ran to see him.

It was an enjoyable time. First, everyone was taking picture s and following him around. Then they had the young guns catch passes from Lamar.

Lamar was great with the kids and you could really tell his genuine care for them. I actually did get to interact with him and take a picture with him.

Lamar also flew a drone for the enjoyment of the kids which was really cool as well. It’s encouraging to see professional athletes who care about the community and want to give back.

You can see Lamar Jackson in action this fall with the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL. Who knows maybe we’ll get a shoutout from him about the event?

All I know is Lamar has a faith and hope in Jesus Christ. When I searched if he was a Christian many different sites popped up claiming he was one. That is the most important thing. Not whether or not you can throw a ball 100 feet in the air, but what you believe and what your faith in Jesus Christ is as a person.

So when you see Lamar play remember who he is as a person and what his beliefs are not that he’s a professional athlete but a person in Christ.

I even gave one of Lamar’s teammates my blog card! However, I’m hoping to hear back from them.

All in all, it was a great day to serve with FCA and I’m looking forward to the next event!
